Paragliding Flight

We meet in Mürren. For detailed information about the meeting point, including how to get there, please see the ‘Meeting Point‘ page.

If you have one of the many travel passes, your journey to Mürren is probably included – check with your ticket provider. If you do NOT have a travel pass, a one way journey is approx 12chf. You only need one way – we will fly you back down.

Find the Landing Field

This is the best place for friends and family to watch. It is also where you park, if arriving by car.

Wear clothing that you would wear to hike – layered clothing, a light jacket and good, closed-toe shoes. No flip flops! Your pilot will have a windbreaker for you, if you need it.

TO BRING:

Wallet & phone

Glasses & sunglasses – if you can run in them, you can fly in them.

A small bag/handbag – for your personal items. This is safely stowed in the harness for the flight.

A compact camera or GoPro; your pilot will ensure it’s attached safely to you with paraglider line. NO phones, handle attachments, helmet mounts, chest mounts or selfie sticks – the camera must be securely attached DIRECTLY to you.

You can bring a small backpack / handbag for your belongings – phone, wallet, water bottle.

Large or heavy bags, or items such as hiking poles, can be left in Murren with us while you fly – and you can come back up to Mürren after your flight to collect them.

Alternatively, ask at the Schilthornbahn and they will transport your bags down to Stechelberg, where you can collect them after landing.

Mountain weather is very changeable, and we cannot predict conditions in advance. We will contact you if we need to reschedule or cancel – make sure your phone number is correct and you have access to Whatsapp. This is the best way to keep in touch.

If we cannot fly due to weather of course you don’t pay a thing. If we cannot reschedule your flight for another time you will receive a full refund.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Guests can cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the flight with no charge (rescheduling only possible if space is available).

Cancellations that Airtime makes due to weather are free of charge – you will be issued a full refund.

Cancellations made by guests within 24 hours of the flight time will be charged in full.

The usual weight limit is 90kg. If you’re taller or have a larger build, we can often fly up to 95kg. In the right conditions in summer, we may be able to take guests weighing up to 100kg.

In all cases, you must be fit and able to run with no mobility or medical issues.

Safety always comes first, and we reserve the right to cancel flights if conditions deem it necessary.

There isn’t one! We suggest a minimum age of 5 for kids, and there is NO upper age limit.

Photos and video are CHF 40.–

There is no need to pre-book, you can check them out after the flight and decide if you would like them. Payment is by cash or card.

You’re also welcome to bring your own compact camera or GoPro; your pilot will ensure it’s attached safely to you with paraglider line. No phones, handle attachments, helment mounts, chest mounts or selfie sticks – the camera MUST be securely attached directly to you.

All day is beautiful to fly here! We suggest booking to make the flights fit in best with your plans for the day.

Two things to note – book towards the beginning of your trip, as then we have time to reschedule should we need to due to weather. And secondly, should you wish to try for Double Airtime, book after 11.00.

We meet at the meeting point in Mürren, then take a short walk to our take-off area (a 10 minute uphill walk from Mürren), where your pilot will provide a comprehensive briefing.

There is no jumping and no cliff edge – you simply take a few running steps and the paraglider lifts you and your pilot into the air, where you will sit comfortably while soaring over the Alps!

We land in Stechelberg, next to the Schilthornbahn cablecar station, on the bottom of the Lauterbrunnen valley.

The whole experience will last approx 1 hour.

Find the Landing Field

You don’t need to be an athlete, but you do need to be able to take a few running steps to take off.

You cannot fly if you’re pregnant, have back problems, hip/joint problems, mobility issues, broken bones or recent surgery.

Safety always comes first.

You don’t need ANY previous paragliding experience – it’s suitable for complete beginners.

The cablecar journey to Murren is NOT included in the flight price – check your travel pass, as the journey may be covered.

If you have no pass, it is approx 12chf for a one-way ticket to Mürren.  We will fly you back down!

Do you have friends and family coming along to watch? We recommend that spectators wait at the landing field in Stechelberg, next to the Stechelberg Schilthornbahn cable car station, for the best view of the flight.

If you all come to the meeting point together, there is plenty of time for spectators to travel down by cablecar to the landing field.

How can people fly with us, when there are kids or dogs to look after?

Simply book consecutive flights; there is ample time to hand over kids and dogs between flights.

Photos & videos can be paid by cash or card after the flight – no need to pre-book.

We can fly with ONE passenger per pilot. We are not allowed to fly with more than one person at a time, regardless of the weight.

We take off in Mürren at 1700m, around 900 metres above our landing field in Stechelberg (800m); and we are able to soar much higher, using thermals, if conditions allow!

In winter our take off is even higher, at Schilgrat; we take the chairlift up the mountain with the skiers.

The average flight time is approximately 12-20 minutes, depending on thermic conditions. This is normally more than enough, especially for first-timers! If you would like to fly for longer, our Double Airtime flight offers 30-40 minutes of flight time, and uses thermals to fly longer and higher.

Just ask your pilot on the day if you would like to try for a Double Airtime flight, and they can let you know if conditions are good. If it works – you simply pay the difference on landing.

The duration of the whole experience, from meeting us in Mürren to walking away in Stechelberg, is approx 1 hour.
